Pravina Makan-Lakha
Advisor on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) at ACCORD. She has over two decades of experience working across the African women’s movement and in particular within the women, peace and security agenda.
As a woman’s activist and career peacebuilder, Pravina Makan-Lakha has dedicated her personal and professional life to promoting policies and programmes that reflect the agency of women and their aspirations for equality, inclusion, empowerment, development and leadership. She has worked in programming across Mozambique, South Sudan, Angola, Burundi, Central Africa Republic and South Africa as well as with the African Union (AU)and Regional Economic Communities (IGAD, SADC, ECCAS).
She is amongst the founding members of FemWise-Africa and co-authored “The Power of Collectives: FemWise-Africa” and continues to play a leading advisory role in the conceptualisation and formation of the FemWise-Africa institution.
