Convenor of the Justice and Transformation Programme in the Department of Political Studies at the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa.

She works as both a practitioner and academic on transitional justice. She is a Professor from the Stanford University’s Overseas Study Programme and teaches for the Council On International Educational Exchange’s (CIEE) Cape Town Global Institute.

Scanlon has published over 20 books, articles and chapters on the topics of transitional justice, gender justice and peacebuilding.
